Initial Comments:
A Medicare transplant recertification survey was conducted onsite on October 6, 2020, and October 9, 2020, with document review continued through November 3, 2020. An entrance conference convened on October 6, 2020, at 9:30 AM with the hospital's Administrators and Transplant Program Staff. The survey leader explained the survey process and purpose and expectations for document requests, interviews and observation needs to complete the survey. The entrance conference attendees gave brief introductions and stated their position responsibilities.
An exit conference conducted on October 9, 2020 at approximately 3:00 PM included the hospital's Quality Director and Transplant Program Staff. Per protocol, all potential deficiencies were discussed throughout the survey process. The transplant staff were provided time for questions at the exit conference.
